If you or your child suffers from compulsive self-harm, it’s easy to find yourself feeling hopeless and alone. There are a number of reasons why a person would self-injure, but the most prevalent is to regulate internal emotions; that is, to either stop intensive and uncomfortable feelings, or to “feel something” when numbed.
At two(forty)counseling, we will help you understand the root causes of self-harm, and work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to learn to manage the intense feelings associated with self-harming behavior in a healthier way. Additionally, if the client is a minor, we will work with the parent(s) to guide them in how best to support their child.
